Located just west of the town, the Montrose mansion is a large stone building. Originally a three floor building with a grand entrance, two four floor wings was added during the golden days of the Montrose family. At one time a place of grand parties and maintained and managed by servants, cooks, gardeners, handymen and so on, it has now been neglected and is in need of some maintenance.

The interior is still luxurious, with great crystal chandeliers and heavy mahogany furniture, although most of it is put in moth bag.

It is located in a large garden, almost a park, surrounded by a cold wrought iron fence.

Once, the garden was well kept and the house was always bright and well lit. The ivy on the house was well trimmed. Now, the garden is overgrown and unkept. Most of the house is unused and dark; in most cases only a few windows are lit. The ivy is bushy and covers many windows completely. The entire place has a brooding and gloomy feel.
