The railroad is the main mode of transportation for travellers, as well as the way out for timber (although a lot is carried by trucks).

The railway station is a rather small house, nearly a hundred years old. It can get quite cold in the winter.

Due to the large amount of timber, and at one time also iron ore, going out, the rail yard is fairly large and there are lots of activity loading and unloading cargo.
