Year 323
For a couple of years, Wanderer transports have become more rare. Usually, you had to wait less than a week for a vessel going your way, but by now it may take months. The Wanderers also needs more resources and their vessels are sometimes visibly damaged. In their usual cryptic way, the Wanderers just say that they are otherwise occupied.
Suddenly, the Wanderer transports stops coming.
Since humanity is not even nearly capable of interstellar travel, the Spheres will have to manage by themselves. Initially, there is some panic and confusion, but they soon start to make the best of the situation.
Year 324
Adjusting to produce everything they need is not easy.
Some Spheres on worlds with extreme conditions fail and does not survive. Others adapt, often in a way dictated by their previous speciality.
Year 350
By now, almost a third of the colonies are gone and there is still no sign of the Wandering. The remaining Spheres, however, has managed to adapt and can by now survive on their own. The Spheres tend to get their very own distinct identity and speciality when isolated.
Year 450
By now most people doubt the Wandering will come back, some even doubt they existed in the first place. Science and development is very limited due to the limited population on most Spheres, and what spearhead research takes place is often highly specialized.
Year 538
After more than two hundred years, the Wanderers are finally back. Their vessels are badly damaged and they need lots of materials to fix them, but says that the other issue is now resolved. No additional information is given.
